This huge beech slice or "cookie" was sourced from a local tree surgeon. It's a shame this massive, old tree had to be cut down but we are glad we've had the chance to give it a new life. It's truly amazing to look down at the beautiful grain and appreciate the hundreds of years of growth that this tree has seen.
This slice has been fully seasoned and has naturally split as it has dried out. We've added decorative English walnut "bow" ties or dovetail keys to make a feature out of these splits.
To add to the natural feel of the table the legs are made from multiple bark-on sticks.
The top has been finished with a shellac sealer and Osmo oil to protect and enhance the natural tones of the wood.
This is a real statement piece and would look great in a minimal sitting room.
