About us
From our Sussex based workshop we design and make bespoke furniture and products. We specialise in woodwork but also like to incorporate other materials such as metal, concrete and glass.
Founded in 2013 by designer-maker Josh Kennard, Forge Creative was born from a desire to craft meaningful, lasting pieces that combine artistry with function. What began as a personal pursuit for fulfillment has evolved into a thriving studio, known for creating bespoke furniture and homeware that tell a story through design.
At Forge Creative, we believe in inspired design, responsibly sourced materials, and superior craftsmanship. Whether it's a dining table or a jewellery box, every piece is thoughtfully made to be cherished for years to come. Our small, dedicated team works closely on every project, ensuring each item meets our high standards of quality and attention to detail.
We love collaborating with clients to bring their vision to life, creating timeless pieces that blend beauty, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
We work with you to create the perfect piece of furniture, to suit your needs and taste. We've taken on a whole range of different projects for domestic and commercial clients, making anything from wooden bowls to cabinets. We especially enjoy making spectacular dining tables, not only because it is a great way to showpiece beautiful timber but also because dining tables bring people together around food, and what could be better than that. If you’re interested in seeing what we have previously worked on, check out our portfolio of furniture here.
If would like commission something from us then get in touch. We would love to hear from you and talk about your ideas.

“Hey, how come your furniture is so much more expensive than Ikea?”
All of our furniture is designed by us and hand made to order, giving you the ability to customise every element. On top of this, each piece we create is made to last. We use solid timber and build everything to the highest standard so if looked after properly, there is no reason it shouldn’t last at least your lifetime, if not for many generations. We are confident in the quality of our furniture but if you were to have any issues we will repair the item free of charge (provided the issues aren’t caused by misuse).
Money For Nothing is a great TV programme in which junk items are given a new life by a collection makers around the country. Back in 2016 we became one of these makers and have since worked on a range of different projects for the program.
In the show, presenters Sarah Moore, Jay Blades and EJ Osborne save unwanted items from being left at the tip so that they may be transformed into objects of value. This task is taken on either by the presenters themselves or by another chosen maker.
Some of the items we have made include skateboards, hawthorn wood vases, copper pipe candle holders, a clothes drying rack and even a mechanical turtle.
You can watch us on both BBC Channel One and BBC iPlayer.
We work mostly in wood but we occasionally use other materials such as concrete, steel and brass. We also like to experiment with new and interesting ways of using these materials to create satisfying surfaces to be enjoyed in your home. We hope these materials excite you and give you ideas for your future projects.
