Oak Three Ways

Fumed oak, Chared oak and bog oak

It was a pleasure to be commissioned to make this great table. Working with what the client had in mind, we came up with a few different designs before settling on this.

The tabletop is made from some really characterful boards of oak that we have fumed to make the colour richer. We have repaired and made a feature of the woods natural cracks by inlaying bow tie keys made from naturally blackened bog oak. The edge of the table has been sanded, but in a way that the natural shape has been kept. The Legs are also made from oak, with a splayed and tapered design and given a charred finish to match the black of the bow-tie keys.

We think the black and the rich oak tones make for a stunning combo. This table is built to last and be enjoyed for a long time.
